Governing of Burning

of Leaves in Town


Governing the burning of leaves within the limits of the Borough of Bolivar and providing for penalty for violation thereof.

Be it enacted and ordained by the Borough of Bolivar, and it is hereby enacted and ordained by the authority of the same:

Section 1. That it shall be unlawful for any person or persons within the limits of the Borough of Bolivar, from and after the enactment of this Ordinance, to burn or cause to be burned any leaves or rubbish or other material upon any street or highway within the limits of the said Borough which are now or may hereafter be covered with asphalt, amesite, or other similar black-top surfacing.

Section 2.  Any person or persons, owner, tenant or builder, who shall violate any of the conditions herein recited, shall upon conviction thereof before the Burgess of the Borough of Bolivar or a Justice of the Peace, be sentenced to pay a fine of not less than $5.00 nor more than $25.00 and the costs of suit for each offense, and in default of the payment of such fine and costs shall be confined in the Westmoreland County Jail for a period not exceeding ten (10) days.

Section 3. That all Ordinances or Resolutions or parts thereof inconsistent herewith, be and the same are hereby repealed.
