Approval of May minutes
Motion made to approve May minutes made by Jessica, 2nd by Mellissa. All in favor motion passed.
Approval of treasurer report for May
Pat said the only difference is she wrote a check for the car dash plaques ad trophies. Amount was $ 123.45 made out to Action Awards by Kogut.
Mellissa said we had $300 budgets for it. So we are far under that amount. The kid’s award for car show was only $22.98
After review motion made by Mellissa, 2nd by Jessica to approve Treasure report, all in favor motion passed.
Old Business
1. Letters for vendors for 2025 Brickfest update
Pat said we now have 13 vendors. We also have Kona Ice. They are also doing shaved ice. They requested 2 spots.
Mellissa asked if we got any more from her church. Pat said no we did not.
Brittany said she will post again for vendors. Pat said she also received 2 additional applications for vendor ship.
Mellissa asked if we got any wine vendors yet. Pat said no not yet.
2. Update on gun bash at Legion.
Brittany said 333 tickets @ $25.00 to be paid 1 to 5 PM. Mellissa said approved by John November 8th. We are just waiting for John to get them made.
Mellissa said John has asked for us to sell their gun bash tickets. Mellissa said we had tickets returned to us at the Legion. They did not sell.
Mellissa said she got lots of hints from VFW in New Florence. To sell tickets and money. They used packets of $1’s, $5’s, $10’s. We can pre- package the tickets. They had gun table tickets also.
Brittany said we did something similar to that.
3. Update on Beef Stick Sales.
Jess went around and collected what was sold. We sold 75 more tickets for $112.50 We have 175 left out of 471 sticks left to sell. We now have a profit of $229.00
We still are going to order another box that was approved from last month’s meeting.
4. Sponsorship signs.
Pat said they are all in now. Mellissa said hers is not in. She got it typed up but forgot to send.
5. Update on sandblasting / painting.
Brittany, said they just texted me today. Back in town will set up date to blast. Looking for dry weather for blast. His quote does not include paint.
6. Update on shed
Brittany will bring next meeting
7. Update on Hosses certificates.
Mellissa is now making the copies. They must take this flyer for us to get the credit. Pat said to give to Kathleen to put onto pizza boxes. Brittany said she can also put in the bags at the pharmacy. Brittany said she can make it smaller to hand out.
8. Update on tree removal/ trimming
Brittany said she talked to Dave but it has been really wet.
9. Update on step removal lower park
Brittany said she has to talk to Lou and hasn’t seen him yet for the workers to remove for us.
10. Update on picnic table for lower park
Brittany said on her list for next meeting.
11. Update on benches – wood needing replaced
Mellissa said we should contact the people to fix the benches or they need to take them. Brittany said she can’t keep getting Myer’s to do the work. He doesn’t have the time.
Pat said we have money set aside to fix the benches. Brittany said the one by the tree is the concrete. Pat said we have 3 sets of sides for benches. Brittany said she would ask Uncle Gary if he would do it.
Brittany said she spoke to her Amish guy and he quoted $2,328 for just the ramp. At some point we really need to have it replaced.
New Business:
Camera system for Berkey Park
Pat spoke with Dan from Superior Security. Good news is we can get 5 cameras. 3 on the pole in front of concession. 1 pointed toward pavilion area, 1 to stage, other pointed to bench areas.
1 tip top back of concession stand pointing to upper playground areas. The 5th camera will be on stage pointing to concession stand.
That way it covers the whole area. We have enough lighting up there the cameras will show up black and white at night. They can be attached to our current system down here at the Borough and won’t cost us anything extra for monthly monitoring. The bad news is the hard drive is for 4 cameras and we need an eight camera system. The cost for the upgraded hard drive is $1,000. Plus we have to pay for the 5 cameras and installation. Roughly we are looking at $2,000. Dan is going to give us an actual quote within the next couple weeks. Mellissa said the only problem she has is down at the bottom ballfield. Sara said she was watching a car with people just sitting there. She said Jeffery said just pull the footage. Mellissa said she can’t. Pat said she can pull anytime day or night. She has the program on her phone. I don’t have to be at the borough to look at the system.
Pat said if everyone agrees and when she gets the quote, she can contact everyone to get approval for the exact amount. We can then retro- active the cost at the meeting. Brittany said she is ok with that, as well at Brittany Hughes. Brittany Miller said we have and are putting a lot of money into the parks and don’t want it destroyed. Mellissa and Jess also agreed to this. Pat said she will also contact Comcast to get the cable installed.
Any other business to discuss?
Mellissa said she did order ice cream from Pam. It’s a lot of ice cream. I think we will sell all of it. It is a better quality. When she ordered the pop-cycles they came as twins.
Mellissa asked if we should do Ham Barbeque and sloppy joes. Agreement was nachos and cheese, and ham barbeque and pizza is enough.
Zoo did called to confirm for Friday. They will arrive at 10:30 to set up.
Mellissa said she will let the location site be determined by them.
Brittany said we need to start the letters for donations of baskets.
Sue to do Indiana locations.
Pat to email letters to everyone for them to copy. Discussion was made for locations and businesses to drop off.
Pat said she set up the car show, blow up race and Brickfest times on Facebook under parks & Rec.
Nothing else to discuss.
