Regulating Riding of

Bikes on Sidewalks

and during certain

hours


Regulating the Riding of Bicycles within the limits of the Borough of Bolivar and providing for penalty for violations thereof.

Be it enacted and ordained by the borough of Bolivar and it is hereby enacted and ordained by the authority of the same.

Section 1. That it shall be unlawful for any person to ride any bicycle within the limits of the borough of Bolivar during the period of one hour after sunset and one hour before sunrise without having a light burning on the front and rear of said bicycle visible for a distance of 100 feet, it shall be unlawful for more than one person to ride upon a bicycle at any one time, and all persons riding a bicycle within the limits of the Borough of Bolivar must remain in the roadway portion of all streets, highways, and alleys and it shall be unlawful for any person to ride a bicycle on any sidewalk, within the limit of the Borough of Bolivar All persons riding bicycles must obey all traffic signs, rules and regulations established and enacted governing the operation of motor vehicles upon the streets, highways, and alleys of the Borough of Bolivar.

Section 2. That any individual, owner and or operator of passenger of any bicycle and or the parents or parent of any minor owner operator or passenger of any bicycle who shall violate any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall upon conviction before the Burgess, be sentenced to pay a fine of not less than $5.00 nor more than $10.00 and costs for each offense and in default of payment of said fine be committed to the county Jail for a period not exceeding five (5) days.

Section 3. That all Ordinances or Resolutions or parts thereof inconsistent herewith, be and the same are hereby repealed.
