1. Letters for sponsorship update

Mellissa contacted sponsors by phone and letter.  Keith Vasas from GAI Consultants is going to sponsor the movie in September.   Also Somerset Trust approved to issue a check for $150.   S & T has not responded yet.  Mellissa said also she contacted Covington Investments Financials and spoke to the wife.  They moved to South Carolina, but will still send money.

2.  Update on letters for Vendors for Brickfest

Pat said she has 8 spots that are paid for.  I have sent out 2nd requests from prior attendance.  Mellissa also got the list from her church.  Mellissa said she did send them each a vendor application.

Pat said we are still early for Brickfest vendors so we are doing great in vendor spots.

3.  Update on Comedy show April 12

Pat said our profit for comedy night was we sold 70 tickets for $1750...  Cost of comedians was $1550.  The pull tickets we made $347.  So total profit was $547.

Jessica said wasn’t bad considering there was also an events going on in New Florence.

4.  Update on ticket going off May 25th $10 for 500 to sell

Pat said she stopped off at Biggin’s – they had 30 tickets. I pulled 10 tickets they sold 10 tickets and left them 10 tickets.    Stiles Hardware has 14 left to sell.  I got Sandy Peters sold hers, Sandy Harris sold hers,

Sue LaMantia’s sold, Jessica sold hers, Bill Hughes has his sold, and Kathleen said whatever tickets are not sold she will purchase   Dana’s has her 20 tickets sold.  Michele Bouch turned in her 30, took another 10 and took 10 more to the Legion.  Kristen Cruise said she has hers sold.  Tammie Saxton has her sold and gave to Brittany.  Brittany is sold and took and extra from me to sell.  Mellissa said she has hers sold all but 10.  She posted on Facebook and ended up selling them.  K & K haven’t sold any of theirs yet. Brittany said she will sell.

5.  Update on gun bash at Legion.

Brittany Miller said she talked to Greg and he does not have any problem will also doing the purses at gun bash.   He suggested days in June.  Brittany said we should do in November.  She has no idea how to contact anyone to sell the purses.  Mellissa said then we will just do guns.

Mellissa looked at the calendar and said November 9th is a Sunday.  Steelers don’t have a game until 7 PM that night.

Pat checking on event dates for the Fire Dept. so as not to interfere with their function.

We are checking for Nov 8th or Nov 15th

6.  Update on Beef Stick Sales.

Pat said we sold 471 sticks, for $706.50 and have 250 left.

Spent $590

Profit is $116.50 so far.

Legion is almost out and Jessica needs to take more down there for sale.  Just restocked LaMantia’s Store.  They get 76 at a time.

After discussion motion was made by Brittany Miller, 2nd by Mellissa that when we have ¾ of a box sold then we can order another box.  All in favor motion passed.

Jessica said we can now choose what flavors to order per.  We can have 6 flavors per box or make all the same.

Brittany said once we make our money back on a case then we can order another case.  That is how we have the motion made.

7Update on subs and pizza fundraiser

Pat said we sold 207 subs for $2,056.00    Cost was $1445 - made a profit of $611.00

Mellissa said we need to do differently next time.   Hannah and Mellissa did not get their total subs.

Mellissa said if you take the order then you need to be here to give out the order.

Pat suggested we do a double check.  When an order is pulled then have someone else to check it to ensure the correct types of subs have been pulled.

Mellissa said if we sold them for Brickfest, we can do presales and have them delivered on Brickfest day.

She to talk to Marianna’s to see if they can do half subs for us.  We would then get $50 off.

She also called them today to see if they would donate meatballs and sauce.  They to get back to us.

If we want to put another sub sale on the calendar then we need to do now.

8.  Sponsorship signs.

Pat brought out the signs.  She showed the name on the main event with Velcro. Very easy to change.   It they are not the main event sponsor then we just get a regular sponsor sign.

9.  Update on sandblasting / painting.

Brittany spoke to Rodney Gering from Latrobe.  He would charge $1200 to do it all.  He would take down to the bare metal and then paint.  Once sandblasted we only have a 48 hour window to get them painted, as long as it does not rain.  I go 4 different quotes, ranged from $9000 to $600 .Rodney Gering said he would do for $600

Brittany said it is up to rest of board to decide.  Brittany talked to New Florence and they said Rodney did theirs several years ago and it is still holding up.  They was in 2023.

Mellissa motioned to hire Rodney Gering to paint the playground equipment for $600 and pay the sandblaster $1200 to clean the equipment.  Jessica 2nd the motion all in favor motion passed.

Brittany said she to make the arrangements.

10.  Update on shed

Myers seems to think we should not try to move Monica’s shed.  We cannot find anyone to move it and so it’s not worth the hassle in trying to move ourselves.

The Amish people out of Brush Valley make all kinds of sheds and they are very reasonable in price. Will bring the paper next meeting for everyone to discuss.  They can even put shelving in it for us.

11. Update on Hosses certificates.

Mellissa we are set up for July 10th. That is community night, two things, they are sending an email and you must take it with you or the money will not go toward our event.

We should find someone also who works an Indiana Hospital who come daily to Hosses.  Also IUP students and employees.

They also have gift cards. We can sell for $10 and we get either 2 or 3 dollars.  We can presell on line or you can just buy 20 cards at a time.

Mellissa asked if we want to do either items or just one.  Discussion was made.  Let’s try deadline June 22 for the cards to purchase.

Jessica motions to try and Mellissa 2nd the motion to try the gift cards.

New Business:

  1. Tree removal / trimming

Brittany passed out an estimate for trimming and cutting of some trees at Lower Park.

Estimate covers on site removal of four large trees, two of which are dead and two which are taking over the playground equipment.

Also minor pruning over the swings from another tree or two.

This cost includes chipping the brush and removal of debris, but leaving all the firewood cut into 18” – 20 “length left on site near the trees. Total cost $4,000

Mellissa said she will ask at the Borough meeting if they would help by giving us $2,000 for this project.

Mellissa motions to hire Dave Henry Tree Specialist, 2nd by Brittany Hughes, all in favor motion passed.

  1.  Mulch

Need more mulch at lower par.  Mellissa motions to get a load, 2nd by Jessica, all in favor motion passed.

  1. Step removal

Brittany thinks the borough workers could remove the steps.   They are wooden and dangerous.  Pat said to hit up Lou for the workers to do.

  1.  Picnic Table

Brittany had her dad remove the picnic table from the lower park.  I think we should do just the $100 table. Really should not purchase one for $1,000.

Jessica motions to get a new table, 2nd by Brittany Hughes, all in favor motion passed.

  1.  Stage wood issue

There is a hole on the ramp.  Someone did something to the railing.  A hugh hole is now in the stage and the side rails are busted.  Brittany will try to see if the Borough workers could fix it.  It needs work immediately.  Pat said the lumber could be put on the Lowes card.  Again ask Lou for permission to use the workers.

  1.  Concession stand clean out.

We only have 2 weeks before our first concert.  Let’s try for May 2nd at 2 PM May 18th.

  1.  Several benches- wood needs replaced under the trees.

Brittany brought up the issuer of Jean Pahach.  Mellissa and several others thought it would be a great idea to get a bench in memory of Jean Pahach and put up by the basketball court.  We have $445 dollars given to us in Memory of her.  Jessica motions and Brittany 2nds to get a bench.

Pat said we have $645 in fund money for bench repairs.  Pat said for Brittany to ask Lou if the workers could fix the benches.  We will purchase the wood if they will fix them.

Also was checking if we ever got the corrected wooden piece for the Degano bench.  Brittany said she has it on her porch, it just needs to go on the bench.

Mellissa said we can start collecting baskets now if everyone wants.  People can come in and look at them.  We can place here in the Borough.

We should start advertising now.

Pat said the only problem we have is certain people on council who will make a big deal on having the baskets at the borough.

Mellissa did talk to Pam about the ornament. She will come up with an idea on it.

Motion made by Brittany 2nd by Mellissa to close meeting at 8:00 PM.
